Ty-Rite Anchoring System

Ty-Rite is a steel post anchor that holds your post off the dirt and out of the concrete. The anchor goes in the footing, and the post sits on top of it, so no wood is ever buried in soil or set in cement.

A post anchor that keeps wood out of the ground

The Ty-Rite Anchoring System is a steel post anchor, a post base or bracket cast into the footing, that connects a wood post or beam to its concrete. The concrete holds the steel. The steel holds the wood. The wood stays up in the air, where it can dry out.

Keep posts out of concrete and out of the dirt

  • No buried wood. The post never goes into the hole. It stands on the anchor above grade.
  • No wood in the concrete. Only the steel anchor is cast into the footing.
  • Water drains away. With an air gap under the post, water has nowhere to sit against the end grain.
  • Same building, longer life. Keeping posts out of the wet is what the old site meant by “floating the beams above the ground.”

Who makes it

The Ty-Rite Anchoring System was invented by Tab Driggers, owner of Designs by Vision. It is American made, and it is designed and installed by Designs by Vision.

Why builders use it

  • Posts last longer. Wood that stays dry above grade does not rot at the ground line.
  • Simple to build on. Set the anchor, stand the post, and frame the way you already do.
  • One system, many jobs. Barns, homes, fences, poles, and stairs all use the same idea.
  • American made. Built in the USA and installed by the Designs by Vision crew.

Where we install

Designs by Vision installs the Ty-Rite Anchoring System across the Florida Panhandle, the Gulf Coast, and the Alabama Wiregrass.

Ty-Rite post anchor FAQ

Why do wood posts rot at ground level?

The ground line is where a post stays wet the longest. Soil holds moisture against the wood, and a post set in a concrete hole sits in a cup that traps water against the end grain. Wood that stays damp with air around it is where decay starts, so rot usually begins right at or just below grade.

What does the Ty-Rite Anchoring System do?

Ty-Rite is a steel post anchor set in the concrete footing. The post stands on the anchor above grade, so no wood is buried in soil or set in concrete, and the base of the post can dry out.

How is it different from setting posts in concrete?

With a conventional post, the wood itself goes in the hole. With Ty-Rite, only the steel anchor goes in the concrete, and the post sits on top of it, up out of the wet.

Do you install it?

Yes. Designs by Vision sells Ty-Rite anchors, and our crew installs them. Tell us about your project and we will talk through whether we set the anchors or you do.

What areas do you serve?

We install across the Florida Panhandle, the Gulf Coast, and the Alabama Wiregrass. Building somewhere else? Call and ask.

How do I get a quote?

Call 334-447-0039, email ty-rite@designsbyvision.net, or send the quote form with a few details: what you are building, roughly how many posts, and where the job is. We will get back to you.
